Layers of crime scene tape surround this Northwest Fresno home, where a triple shooting turned into a homicide

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Layers of crime scene tape surround this Northwest Fresno home, where a triple shooting turned into a homicide investigation Monday--leaving a family without a father and husband.

"This is a very quiet, peaceful, residential neighborhood. And this type of activity is very unusual. It appears this attack was focused on the one residence," said Lt. Burke Farrah.

Detectives are trying to figure out who in the family was the target. There were three victims -- a father and mother in their 50s, along with their son. All were taken to the hospital, where the dad did not survive.

"We heard sirens, my daughter came out and looked and neighbors were out, and then saw there was police at the end of the block and were like oh man it was gunshots," said neighbor Boris Montene.

This neighbor didn't want to show his face --but said he knew the victims. The father worked at a local In-N-Out. A truck with the company logo still sits in the driveway of the house.

"Something you would never expect from a family like that, real calm kept to themselves, focused on working, kept to themselves at least it seemed like that to me," said Montene.

Police have not released a suspect description --but say this does not appear to be a random act of violence. They are hoping close friends and family they're interviewing can help identify the shooter.
