2 dead after car crashes into cement wall in Atwater

ATWATER, Calif. -- Two people are dead after a car crashes into a concrete wall in Atwater.

Authorities say it happened just before 2:30 this afternoon near Juniper Avenue and Valley Street.

Friends at the scene say the victim's were 18-year-old Jessica Rodriguez and Louis Casares.

Both the driver and passenger were pinned inside the vehicle. Cal Fire, according to police, had to use extraction tools to remove them from the car.

At this time, drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
