FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Fire Department is investigating a fire at an assisted living home that is being calling suspicious.

Flames broke out just after 7 a.m. Monday in the kitchen area of the home. Investigators say the location of origin didn't have any outlets or flammable items, so they are trying to determine if it was intentionally set.

Authorities say residents tried to put the fire out before calling 911, but when firefighters arrived they were able to put it out pretty quickly. Two people were treated for smoke inhalation and one was hospitalized.

Seven people were displaced because of extensive smoke damage to the home.
