VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A young Visalia man with terminal cancer is crossing off items on his bucket list thanks to some help from the community.

Alex Fernandez, 20, has three tumors, but stopped all cancer treatments to focus on a list of things to do before he dies.

Visiting a 49ers game was on that list, but Saturday player Quinton Dial gave him the next best thing. He and his non-profit QD's Kids sent Alex a package full of 49ers swag. He also sent Alex a video message thanking him for sharing his story. Dial says he's dedicating his first game of the 2015 season to Alex for making a difference in the lives of others.

Alex has been working to set up a concert in Lindsay next month to raise money for people like him who are too old for the Make A Wish Foundation. Dial is also arranging to make a donation to that event.

Saturday, Alex got another, more personal item crossed off his list -- a family photo.
