FRESNO, Calif. - Hundreds of Kings County residents were fed a free Thanksgiving meal.
The 17th annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner took place at Lemoore's Senior Citizen Center.
Volunteers served meals at the center, but people could pick up their free meal curbside too.
Hundreds of meals were also delivered to Kings County communities such as Avenal and Kettleman City.
Organizers say the dinner started because there was a need, and that need continues today.
"They come and say thank you, and they're very excited and very happy that this is taking place and they don't want it to stop, they want it to continue," said volunteer James Lohry.
A variety of sponsors, such as Tachi Palace, provide the donations to help make the dinner possible.
It costs about $13,000 to put on.
