Big Fresno Fair Food

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- So many choices, so many good smells drawing you in different directions. William Henry's Hammertime Cafe offers traditional Italian pasta and what he calls "hammers."

"They can only eat so much funnel cakes and that so that's why I'm here. Feed the people," said Henry.

For Henry, this is an emotional return to the fair. He missed the past 16 years to care for his ill parents.

"Believe it or not yesterday was the first day my wagon has worked all these years. What's it like to be back? Oh, I'm home. It's what I love," said Henry.

Eddie's Asian inspired cuisine is new. You can enjoy rice bowls as well as perhaps a new fusion favorite among fairgoers.

"But we have an orange chicken burrito with fried rice, Chow Mein and orange chicken wrapped up in a burrito in a flour tortilla. Oh my God-- it's to die for," said Lola Ramirez.

Do not forget the sauce for your orange chicken burrito. For kids the process of making salt water taffy was mesmerizing.

The Candy Shoppe had the little ones focused on fudge and every other item put on display.

"We've got 8 different flavors instead of just your regular chocolate that you're used to. Cookies and cream are one of our best sellers," said Chris Barbato.

So many options out there--some are even healthy, but the fair is a time when it seems everyone puts their diet aside.
