Train No. 521 left the station at about 4:30 a.m., crossed the bridge into West Sacramento, and hit the person at about 4:35 a.m., Graham said.
Officials stopped the train to conduct a coroner's investigation, and officials set up a bus bridge for passengers aboard train No. 521, Graham said. All other trains were held until the investigation was completed, causing delays for trains into the Bay Area, Graham said.
By about 10:15 a.m., trains were running short delays and catching up to schedule, according to Graham.
