New Plan Aims to Boost Tourism in the Valley

KFSN The new 3-year plan includes plans to promote the area's National Parks at a Downtown Visitor's Center. The bureau also hopes to implement a concierge service for visitors, so they can get out and spend money.

Laura Whitehouse with the City and County Convention and Visitor's Bureau said, "The economy is kinda tough right now so this is the time to invest the money in this area because if we can get in more visitors and bring in more money, we can help the economy."

The bureau says it is also changing its focus to promoting tourism and conventions equally. To make the strategic plan a reality, the bureau is asking for an additional half-million-dollars from the City of Fresno, and $250-thousand from the county
