A long police stand-off ended in Los Angeles, but not before five people, including a police officer, were killed.Officer Randal Simmons, a member of the swat team was shot and killed last night.

His fellow Officer James Veenstra was shot and went into surgery last night and is expected to survive.

It all began Thursday night at a house in the San Fernando Valley.

Police say a suspect called them and claimed he'd killed three of his relatives.

When a swat team arrived at the home...they found three men shot inside.

Two were dead and the third died after he was pulled from the house.

Officers tear-gassed the house and that's when a woman ran out and was rescued.

The surrounded gunman apparently set the house on fire and later died in an exchange of gunfire with officers.
