Suisun City police arrested a 17-year-old Fairfield boy Friday in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old man at a birthday party Feb. 9, police reported Saturday.

The shooting occurred at around 11:45 p.m. at a party attended by approximately 100 people at the Veterans Building at 427 Main St. in Suisun City, Sgt. Ted Stec said. Kevin Morgan, 18, of Vallejo, was killed in the shooting and a 17-year-old male was shot and injured.

The suspect reportedly had some type of conflict with Morgan before the shooting occurred.

Because the suspect is a Fairfield resident, Suisun police alerted Fairfield police of the investigation. Suisun detectives also contacted Oakland police after receiving reports that the suspect may have fled to Oakland.

Police arrested the suspect Friday at a Fairfield high school. He was booked into juvenile hall on the charge of murder.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and detectives are working with witnesses and the Department of Justice.

Anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to contact the Suisun City Police Department at (707) 421-7373.
