Pilot aborts takeoff at LAX

Passengers bound for Australia are booked on a new flight Tuesday after a frightening incident on a runway at the Los Angeles International Airport.Airport officials say a Qantas flight carrying more than 200 passengers blew four tires Monday night forcing the plane to abort takeoff.

The pilot hit the brakes when a warning light came on in the cockpit. The plane came to rest on an adjacent runway.

None of the passengers were hurt and everyone safely exited the jet.

The incident did not affect other LAX operations.
