Authorities Hunt for Drugs in Delhi

Dozens of officers from several different agencies swarmed a north Valley community this morning in search of drugs and criminals.The Merced County Sheriff's Department, along with U.S. Marshalls and other officers, served ten warrants in the small community of Delhi. They found methamphetamines, marijuana, and weapons during the operation.

Deputies say Merced County leads the state in meth-related incidents, and this is part of the ongoing effort to crack down on the area's drug problem.

Deputy Kevin Blake, Merced Co. Sheriff's Dept.: "This operation had an emphasis on street level dealers is not going to be tolerated and we're going to be after them aggressively."

Delhi's Harmony Elementary School was put on lockdown as a precaution during Friday morning's searches.
