State Prisons on Lockdown after Stabbing

Prisons throughout the state remain in lock-down after four officers were attacked by two inmates.Prisons throughout the state remain in lock-down after four officers were attacked by two inmates. It happened at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, southeast of Bakersfield.

Prison officials say the inmates who went on a stabbing attack are tied to southern California prison gangs. State officials locked down all prisons to make sure the violence was an isolated incident, and not part of some bigger plan by a gang.

A corrections official says two sergeants and an officer were treated for stab wounds. The three men are in stable condition at various hospitals.

A female officer was also hurt and was taken to a hospital.
