Fatal Wrong Way on HWY 41

One person died in an early morning accident where a driver was going the wrong way on Highway 41 in North Fresno.The crash happened just after midnight, on the northbound lanes of the Highway 41 near the Friant exit.

Highway patrol officers said the driver of a silver car was driving the wrong way on the freeway and caused two crashes. "We believe she had a medical condition she might have been confused travelling southbound in the northbound lanes," said Graciela Torres the California Highway Patrol.

Two people were taken to the hospital, one of them died there.

Part of the highway was closed for a couple of hours as the Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
