Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared it fire season in California. To set an example Friday, Governor Schwarzenegger had his own home in Brentwood examined by fire inspectors, and it failed.

The governor signed an executive order cracking down on people who don't clear the hazards around their home.

"This is a fire hazard at your house. You're living in the middle of it. Get rid of this tall grass. Get rid of the shrubs. Get rid of those trees because you're going to be in trouble," says Governor Schwarzenegger.

Property owners who don't follow the 100 foot "defensible space law" will be fined up to 500 dollars.

Also, the governor's executive order gives Cal-Fire permission to spend whatever it needs to put out fires.
