A four-car accident in Fresno County sent 12 people to the hospital Sunday, including two children and a pregnant woman.Highway patrol officers say an SUV ran a stop sign at Academy and Rose, just before noon.

The expedition was going about 55 miles per hour and its driver's side got dented from front to back as the SUV bounced off pickup trucks in every direction.

A small, dark pickup got crushed on the passenger side, leaving it with a mangled front bumper and hood.

Another, blue pickup got totaled, losing a tire and getting hit so hard, firefighters had to remove the passenger side door to get out the driver and passenger.

Paramedics loaded a pregnant woman from the SUV into a life-flight helicopter to get her to the hospital. 11 other people went to hospitals in ambulances.
