Proposition 99 calls for weaker limitations on eminent domain, but it does not address rent control or evictions.

6/3/2008 Proposition 98 would protect property owners from eminent domain which is the government's power to seize private property for development, but it would also phase out local rent control ordinances for apartments, duplexes and mobile home parks and make it easier for landlords to evict renters.
