Barack Obama Refuses Public Financing

6/20/2008 KFSN Obama made the announcement in a video message posted on his website Thursday. It's an about-face from his earlier pledge to take the money if his Republican rival did as well.

Democrats sued McCain for going back on his pledge to use public funds during the primary season.

That suit was thrown out. McCain has fired back saying, "Today, Barack Obama has revealed himself to be just another typical politician who will do and say whatever is most expedient for Barack Obama."

McCain said unlike Obama, he will accept public funds for the fall election.

Senator McCain will be in downtown Fresno next Monday, June 23rd, for a fundraiser at the Radisson Hotel. The luncheon costs $1,000 to $2,300 dollars per person.

The event is hosted by the McCain victory California leadership team.
