Shocking murder at Pinole bowling alley

6/4/2008 PINOLE, CA

Police are continuing to investigate the murder at the AMF Pinole Lanes. It happened just before midnight on Tuesday.

Police said there were about 100 people in the bowling alley when a teenager was shot.

"Just before midnight a suspect walked up behind a 19-year-old in the bowling alley and shot him multiple times in the back of the head. The victim was taken to the hospital where he has deceased," said Paul Clancy, Pinole police department.

Police did an extensive search in a field behind the bowling alley, but they did not find the suspect or any evidence. The suspect is described as a black male about six feet tall - he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

This is the third shooting at a Bay Area bowling alley since March. In March, no one was hurt when shots rang out at a bowling alley in Alameda, but an innocent man was shot and injured when he was shot in the leg at a bowling alley in Albany.

This is the fourth murder in Pinole this year.
