Summer Reading Program

A valley program to inspire kids on summer vacation to read kicked off Monday.A couple of Central Unified School Libraries, including the Herndon-Barstow Elementary Library are opening for kids who are taking part of the "summer reading program".

Kids who participate can take part in an incentive program with prizes for books read.

Students in the district can check out books and other materials at the school and the public can visit the libraries as long as they're open.

Program organizers also say they hope to offer free lunches for students and reading activities for preschoolers.

Herndon-Barstow Elementary
El Capitan Middle School
Central High East
Runs From 10 Am-3pm Monday through Thursday
