For the fourth time in two days, a car has plowed into pedestrians on a New York City sidewalk. In the latest incident, this one in Brooklyn, two toddlers were among the four people injured. The Flatbush accident came a day after three such occurrences in Manhattan in which cars struck a total of 18 people, injuring three of them seriously.

Witnesses to Saturday's accident said the car crashed into two children at play on the sidewalk, where they lay bleeding after being hit.

A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition, and a girl of the same age was reported in stable condition. Two young women, 16 and 19, are in stable condition.

Police say the 16-year-old driver ran from the scene, but that officers caught up with him and arrested him on several charges.
