The Fresno Grizzlies mascot "Parker" did a little "relief work" in the heat at Wednesday night's game at Chukchansi Park. Parker helped fans keep cool in the stands. The temperature reached 106 degrees around the stadium. It was even hotter on the field, where the mercury climbed to a staggering 152 degrees in some areas.

The Grizzlies manager says he allows the players to cut back on pre-game batting practice in extreme heat to save their energy for the games.

The series began with Scott McClain reaching a minor league milestone, then providing walk off drama.

While some fans found the perfect way to beat the heat. Ice cream, fans, the ballpark misters, or hanging out in the 600 club; the Grizzlies found the way to beat Portland

The beavers erased the Grizzlies early 2 run lead, with a rally in the 4th. But just like Wild Thing doused the fans, Nate Schuerholtz 2 run double erased a 2 run Portland lead in the 9th and McClain followed with the game winning single.

The final score was 8 to 7, Grizzlies.
