Eastern Sierra Mudslide

A massive mudslide on the east side of the sierra caused major damage to more than 50 homes and shut down part of interstate 395.The mudslide near the town of Independence, came after severe thunderstorms in the mountains. It measured about 300 yards wide and up to three feet deep.

Dozens of people were forced to evacuate their homes. The slide oozed across the interstate and some mud even got into the Los Angeles aqueduct.
