Confirmed West Nile Virus Case in Fresno County

The Fresno County Health Department confirmed the county's first case of West Nile Virus this year.Health officials say a 62-year-old woman had flu-like symptoms. The woman tested positive for West Nile ... but she wasn't hospitalized.

This is the eighth human case of West Nile infection in California this year ... so far no one has died.

Mosquitoes transmit the disease ... and health officials say this new case is another strong reminder to take precautions against mosquito bites.
