Fresno State Asks For Delay in Shirley Case

Fresno, CA, USA Jason Shirley is accused of drunk driving and hit and run, but a jury wasn't able to reach a verdict in his first trial.

Fresno State officials want the court to delay the trial, set for August 27th because several team officials, including Coach Pat Hill, may be called as witnesses.

Fresno State's first game is September first at Rutgers, and the university is concerned the trial could impact game preparations. The school is asking for the re-trial to be postponed until after the football season is over.
