July 31, 2008 7:31:19 PM PDT
The Fresno VA Hospital will soon add another outdoor recognition to our veterans when the blue star memorial garden and wall is built to honor all who served in the U.S. military. It will be located at the entrance to the VA Hospital where thousands of veterans and their families visit each year.

Staff and guests saw an artist's rendition and heard about the plans from the VA Leadership Class of 2008 who envisioned it.

James Dunmore a nurse at the VA Hospital as well as an air force veteran is a member of the VA Leadership Class who came up with the plan. He says: "you'll see a 7 foot granite memorial that has all six seals of the branches ...we want all of the branches to be recognized here at the VA where they all get care."

With the help of the U.S. Air Power Museum and the Veterans Magazine money is being raised to support the project that is expected to be complete.

The memorial wall will within the blue star memorial garden and will feature the names of veterans. The tax deductible cost to add a veteran's name is one-hundred-fifty dollars.
