For the first time, the Red Cross has opened a disaster recovery center in Mariposa County and the recovery phase has started for victims hardest hit by the fire. Residents are donating clothing and linens to a distribution center in Mariposa.

In Midpines, the Red Cross and the Mariposa County Behavioral Assistance group are providing food and clothing.

Grief counselors are also visiting homes burned down to the ground. They're telling victims about financial relief they may be entitled to.

The local assistance center is at the Midpines Community Center, but disaster teams are going door-to-door.

If you need help, you can call (209)966-2000 or (800)549-6741.
