High Speed Chase in Fresno

Officers don't know why a man and a woman wouldn't stop for the Highway Patrol.That sparked a brief high speed chase that ended in northwest Fresno around 2am Wednesday morning.

Officers tried to stop the driver of a mustang for speeding near Freeway 41 and the 180, but the driver kept going as fast as 140 miles an hour.

The driver got off the freeway and wound up at Alamos and West. Officers say the couple ran from the car, but were quickly arrested.

Officer said they don't know why they tried to get away, because the vehicle was not stolen.
