They say many people go to the ER for primary care and other non-emergencies. Officials say the clinics will better serve Tulare and its surrounding communities.
Carol Thiel, nurse practitioner at Tulare District Hospital, says "We realized that there's many people with limited access to healthcare and the hospital has done this in the past and recognized we need to do this now to currently meet the needs of the community so there are plenty of people who really struggle to get primary care and this is one way to meet those needs."
The Tulare clinics are located right across the street from the hospital.
