Fresno police say 57 year old Mark Greene had been drinking when he went outside naked Wednesday and began acting inappropriately.
Jeff Cardinale, Fresno Police Department: "His explanation for the event was he had just came back from a restaurant, he had consumed some alcohol and taken some depression medication and was inside his house when he wanted to relieve some stress and cool down."
Officers who responded to the tower district neighborhood say around 11:30 at night, a neighbor called police to report the strange behavior.
Parents at the school where Greene has taught for nine years say they were surprised to hear about the incident.
Nickolas Carson, Mayfair Parent: "There's nothing you can say about this really except that it's just unheard of. It's profound. Something like this shouldn't happen. It's a bad influence on the kids. It makes the school look Bad."
Crystal Cota, Mayfair Parent: "It's disturbing. I'm concerned our kids that are here in the district. Kinda wonders what kind of background, do they do a full background check on these teachers here?"
Police say Greene was cooperative and does not have any other criminal history. Fresno Unified officials say psychologists will be on campus Friday to talk to any students who need counseling. Administrators say they are cooperating with police and Greene is on administrative leave for now.
Moments ago Fresno Unified issued a statement saying they will continue to take appropriate action to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
