Fresno Elderly Get a Rude Awakening

September 17, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
The people who live at the Californian Hotel in downtown Fresno got an early wakeup call after the building's sprinkler system went off. Residents made their way down to the lobby just before 4am when water started spraying from the ceiling. Three floors of the building are now flooded and crews are working to get them cleaned up.

One resident must move into a new room because there's a concern, the sheetrock on the ceiling will collapse.

The Fresno Fire Department said someone vandalized the sprinkler system causing it to go off. That person is now in custody.
