"Piglet Book" Released

A group known for calling out wasteful government spending is at it again.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      |   Watchdog Groups Release Annual California Piglet Book   |

"The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Foundation", along with "Citizens against Government Waste", released their annual "California Piglet Book".

It highlights what they call examples of waste, including the high-speed rail project, which the group calls "a bullet train to bankruptcy."

Supporters say the train is necessary because of the population growth in California. The report also criticized the Highway Patrol, which it said spent one million dollars on 51 vans, most of which were rarely used.
