Star Power Benefits Sick Kids

9/21/2008 Fresno, CA, USA Curtis used her star power during a valley visit to help sick kids. She used her charisma and warmth to encourage a wealthy audience to dig deep into their pockets to help those less fortunate. "There's nothing more important, honestly nothing more than raising money for children. Period!"

Curtis made her rounds greeting some of the elite local valley residents at the 12th annual Harvest Ball in northwest Fresno. The money raised will go toward research and treatment at children's hospital.

The actress says it all comes back to taking care of the kids.

Action News Anchor Warren Armstrong welcomed Curtis, he also mceed the event. "So on behalf of everyone at Children's and ABC 30 thank you for being here tonight."

Curtis says she hopes people will vote in November for proposition three which provides millions of dollars in funding for Children's Hospitals across California.

The actress's passion seemed to sweep over the crowd. "There is no more important, no greater good in the world than helping a sick child."

Proposition three doesn't come without debate. Opponents claim that the bond would drive California deeper into debt and benefit too many special interest groups.
