Asian Markets Down Monday

The markets in Asia aren't reacting strongly to the U.S. bailout plan that congress hopes to pass this week.Stocks are dipping as investors unload shares across the region. The markets began the day mixed Monday, but as the day went on, the numbers began to drop.

The Nikkei was down 0.9 percent, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index shed more than 2 percent.

Key stock indexes in Seoul, Singapore and Sydney also declined. However, benchmarks in New Zealand and the Philippines were higher.
