Shirley's defense team is trying to delay the trial until after football season … So Shirley can play for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Charles Magill Shirley's Defense Attorney said, "It's clear this is not only on Jason Shirley but also on Fresno State. In the last trial, we had Pat Hill testify, I expect to have him testify again. I have a variety of influential people at Fresno State's football team subpoenaed."
The prosecution refused to delay the trial. Shirley is scheduled to go to trial next month in the middle of the NFL season.
