On Thursday, search and rescue crews found an oval-shaped bone fragment, but they don't know if it belongs to an animal or human. The bone fragments were sent to a lab in Fresno for analysis.

Earlier this week, a hiker turned over some ID cards belonging to Fossett that he found in the wilderness.

Fossett vanished last year during a flight over the Sierra Nevada.
