Young People Encourage Voting

October 25, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
Dozens of young people took to the streets today, reminding people to get out and vote.About 50 teenagers canvassed the Pinedale area, speaking to registered voters, and reminding them to participate on November 4th.

They were part of the faith in community group, hoping to get minority voters to the polls. Group leaders say they target groups which are traditionally under-represented.

Officials also explained why they use so many young people, some of whom aren't old enough to vote.

Faith in community is a local coalition of 20 congregations and faith-based organizations.
