Clovis Teen Hit by SUV Identified

Tragedy strikes a Clovis family so close to the holidays. An SUV struck and killed a teen-aged boy riding his skateboard. He's been identified as 15-year-old Zack Armistead.It happened around 7pm Tuesday night at the intersection of Temperance and Herndon, right in front of Clovis Community Hospital.

Police said the boy was riding his skateboard through the intersection when the car struck him. The impact threw the teen close to 100-feet.

Distraught family members arrived at the scene minutes later. Several eyewitnesses told officers what they saw.

Police said the driver was traveling at the speed limit.
