Widows Denied Benefits

December 13, 2008 12:00:00 AM PST
The government owes the widows of American Military Veterans millions of dollars. The Veteran's Affairs Department said it wrongly denied the widows benefits over the last 12 years because of a computer glitch. They're promising to work quickly to pay off pension and disability checks the widows should have received during the month of their spouse's death.

There's a hotline for widows who think they were wrongly denied benefits, the number is 1-800-827-1000.
