Notorious Valley Criminal up for Parole

January 5, 2009 12:00:00 AM PST
Monday, one of the men responsible for one of the Valley's most notorious crimes goes before a parole board once more. Fredrick Woods has already been denied parole 11 times for his role in the infamous Chowchilla School Bus hijacking in 1976.

He and his brothers Richard and James Schoenfeld kidnapped a bus load of children and buried them alive at a rock quarry in the Bay Area hoping to get a $5-million dollar ransom.

The driver of the bus along with two boys on board escaped and freed all 26 children.
