Kennedy Withdraws Drops Out of NY Senate Consideration

Caroline Kennedy drops out of the race to fill the vacant senate seat in New York.The New York Times reports Kennedy, the daughter of JFK, has withdrawn from consideration for the seat left vacant after Hillary Clinton was sworn in as Secretary of State.

New York Governor David Paterson plans to announce Saturday who his selection is. About a dozen other contenders remain in the running to fill the seat, including Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

The paper is reporting the daughter of JFK withdrew her name because of health concerns for her uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy.
