Hit and Run Turns Deadly

Fresno County, CA, USA Officer Mark Steadmon of the California Highway Patrol said, "We had another driver who apparently is suspected to be DUI was traveling northbound here on Fruit Avenue, ran the stop sign and hit the van broadside. As a result of the collision, we have one woman who has died."

The driver of that car, along with three passengers took off on foot.

Paul Reyes stopped to help after someone inside this van waved him down.

Deputies were able to catch up with the four suspects who ran off. Their car was registered to an address just a few blocks from where the crash happened. When officers arrived at the house, they found the suspects hiding in this nearby canal.

Three adults and two children, ages five and six were transported to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries... Their lives forever changed by tragedy.

The relationship between the woman who died and the two children has not been confirmed at this point. The investigation is of course, still ongoing.

Officers said some of the suspects have not been cooperating with the investigation. The DUI driver is being held here facing some serious charges.
