There was a chase and police said the driver jumped out of the moving car at Belmont and Van Ness. The car crashed into a store front, shattering a window.
Officers caught the driver a short distance away. They said he is a parolee and gang member.
Officers also said the car he was driving was stolen from Clovis, with license plates stolen in Fresno.
