Cynthia Valdez with the Fresno Police Dept. said, "The suspect dragged him down, and began to attack him, took off his socks, his shoes and his pants and then dragged him into the alley."
Cadets monitoring cameras at police headquarters watched the robbery in progress and alerted officers in the area. With help from above, the suspect was located after jumping several fences.
"The suspect noticing how fast our police presence was and how Skywatch was above him obviously got scared and turned himself in and fortunately was arrested. He admitted to robbing and assaulting the victim."
24 year old Steven Candler was arrested for robbery and elder abuse.
Officers found the victim's clothing, wallet and money at a home nearby. The victim ended up with a large cut on his eye from the attack. He was treated at the hospital and released.
Police say Candler has a prior criminal history. In 2006 he was arrested for burglary, accused of stealing a phone.
