More than 1 billion people will be watching the stars walk the red carpet on Sunday night. So along with the task of making the Kodak Theatre shimmer as brightly as the celebrities, there is also the job of keeping the area secure. There are many security devices such as an imaging system to check for explosive devices and weapons. There will also be LAPD bomb-sniffing dogs.

Police helicopters will conduct flyovers, scanning the crowd in search of anything suspicious.

Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton says safety is top priority to ensure everyone enjoys Hollywood's biggest night.

As for the stars, Oscar host Hugh Jackman says the show will look different this year. He also says it will feel very intimate.

Oscar producers Bill Condon and Laurence Mark say nothing in the format is sacred. In fact, the presenters for the big show have remained under wraps, and they will stay a secret until showtime.

Eyewitness News Reporters George Pennacchio and Leslie Miller contributed to this report.
