Fresno Coroner Faces Theft Charges

The former Fresno County Deputy Coroner went to court today to defend himself against two charges of grand theft.Joseph Tiger is accused of taking items during an investigation in March 2008.

Reports show Tiger went to a Northeast Fresno home to log the deceased man's property. An arrest warrant states a fellow employee noticed tiger with the man's cell phone days after he died.

If convicted, the District Attorney said he could face up to three years in prison.
