Madera Unified to Hand out Pink Slips

Madera, CA, USA The layoff notices affect 68 teaching positions and 49 other positions. The job cuts come as Madera Unified tries to find ways to cut 15 million dollars from its budget over the next three years.

District officials are hoping dozens of teachers will accept early retirement which would reduce the number of actual layoffs for the next school year.
