March 18, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
Fresno County Sheriff Deputies have arrested a man accused of trying to kill a woman.Deputies said 32 year old Richard Loera, a bulldog gang member, stabbed a 19 year old woman multiple times.

They claim he and another suspect offered the victim a ride on Sunday. Instead of taking her home, deputies said they took her to a house, bound and beat her, then threw her in a closet. Several hours later, deputies claim Loera took her to a remote location and stabbed her 19 times before leaving her.

Deputies said the victim staggered to a nearby home and was taken to a hospital. She is expected to recover.

Deputies took Loera into custody Tuesday during a traffic stop. He now faces charges of attempted murder, kidnap, and robbery.
