Valley Businesses Use Teamwork to Succeed

Fresno, CA, USA Wednesday night, several businesses at Park Place Center offered discounts on food, drinks, and clothing to anyone wearing a pink wristband from the salon. At Daily Grill, that wristband meant happy hour lasted all night long. "I think in these economical times we can offer the guests a lot more by to doing the cross promotion. We want to keep as many of clientele here in this area as humanly possible," said general manager Stephen Velarde.

That kind of cross promotion has been going on for months at Dai Bai Dang at River Park. They offer discounted movie tickets to the nearby Edwards theater and even include them in some dinner specials. "It's been taking off. It's been a really good thing for us. It's nice for us to give back to the community at the same time. They enjoy it and we enjoy it, it's good for everybody," said manager Jay Rodriguez.

The "teamwork" approach is also being used in the one of the most competitive industries. Several auto dealers can be heard in the same radio P.S.A, including Brett Hedrick of Hedricks Chevrolet. He says the goal is to let customers know credit is available to buy a new car. "We are all in this business together. We all face the same challenges. And I think we look at ourselves as competition, but we are all in this together," said Hedricks.
