Clovis Fire at Scene of Recent Crime

March 27, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
Firefighters rushed to an overnight house fire in Clovis, but the flames also brought out police detectives back to the scene of a previous crime. The fire started around one this morning at a home on Palo Alto and Pecan. It's the same house where a man and his son were attacked last week during a home invasion that police say involved drugs.

When crews arrived this morning, two rooms in the back of the home were on fire and a man was crawling out. Crews quickly put out the flames.

Firefighters don't know yet how the fire started but said the man was on oxygen and is a known smoker.

Police were also at the home to assist in the investigation because of the recent attack.
